DigiTurf Virtual Horse Racing Review

“So Dealer Dan, what have you been doing in the online gambling world lately?”
“DigiTurf.”
“What’s that?”
“Virtual Horse Racing.”
“Oh, like betting on horses?”
“No..it’s virtual horse racing, all computer-generated horses.”
“Oh….betting on virtual horses?”
“No…you OWN the virtual horses.”
“Sounds confusing.”
“It is, but it’s more fun than setting someones hair on fire while they’re asleep.”

True story.

DigiTurf is the home of a very unique game; virtual horse racing. This isn’t where you go to bet on horses, this is where you go to create your own stable of virtual horses, train them, and race them for money. It’s simple, it’s cheap, it’s fun…as Tony The Tiger would say…..it’s grrrrrrrreat!

First of all, you don’t have to know anything about horse racing to play this. DigiTurf has a great beginners guide, and it also has a frequently asked questions knowledge base that will answer almost every question that you have. There is also a messageboard, called the DigiPost, where you can go to read through and find information, and ask your own questions. You can watch the live streaming races, tip horses and also chat to other players.

The premise of the game is simple; you sign up, create a stable, then start buying horses. You then race them against the barrier horse in training races to see where they best compete, or whether they should be sent to the virtual glue factory. There are various types of races, ranging from 1000 to 3200 in length, with Yielding, Soft, Good, Fast, Muddy and more with options to race them on Dirt & Turf in locations all over the world.

Oh, and have I mentioned that you can do all that for free? Yes, you can sign sign up at DigiTurf, get your first horse and see if he’s a champion or not….for free! The only thing you actually have to pay for are entry into races, or if you wish to purchase another horse, or purchase items for your horse, including vitamins and blinkers.

After you’ve found where your horse excels, and trained to him to a high fitness level, you then have to enter him in a race. There are multiple races per day, all in different categories. When your horse starts out, they are categorized as non-grades. Depending on race results, they will switch to a Grade 1 or Grade 2, with Grade 1 being the highest, and offering the biggest stakes. There is a variety of races, some for new stables, some for established horses, some male only, some with male & female, races with added money to them….an incredible variety, making it easy to pick out a race a day for each horse to participate in, against other competitors. There are also end of season Championship Races, with thousands of dollars in prize money, but only the best horses can get in there.

On race day, you can study the horses in your race, and view a form guide to see how they have did in prior races. You can then either just view the results of your race, or do the more fun thing and watch the horse race, in 3D or 2D. The graphics are excellent as are the sounds, and the races are exciting. In my horse, DavidSklansky’s first race, he was 8th the whole way, then at the end made a solid charge, and finished in 2nd, with me whooping and cheering the whole time.

There are other special races, including claiming races, where you race your horses while potential bidders stand by and watch. If they like your horse, they can bid for it in a horse auction, so you can actually sell your horses, and make money off that.

While it would be nice to have a Championship Horse winning you thousands of dollars…..it’s not always that way. It’s a lot of trial and error, buying 10 horses then watching them run slower than molasses, however the way the bonus system works out means you get a real bang for your buck, including the excellent $200 free on a $50 deposit. You can buy a LOT of horses with that.

Overall, this is an excellent, excellent game. The site is laid out well and very easy to navigate, the information is very thorough and the support team are very fast, always on top of things. Sign up for a Free Trial Today.

    Additional Payment Method Questions:

What is the best payment method to use for Digiturf?

Casino Answers strongly recommends using Moneybookers due to its speed, low fees and ease of use. Your deposits and withdrawals will both be even faster than your most prized horse!

    What is Digiturf?

Digiturf is a virtual horseracing game – and is the best of its kind. Your role is as the owner of a stable of horses. Your objective is to train them for their races.

    Is Digiturf considered online gambling?

We suppose it depends on whom you ask, but we don’t consider it to be online gambling in the truest sense. There are costs involved (you pay a stabling fee, and you do purchase virtual horses with real money), but it fits better into the skill game category than a gambling one.

    What does Digiturf cost?

Purchasing a horse from the Sales Ring will cost $15. You can also buy (and sell) your horses in auctions. Equipment for your horse will cost $1-2 (some of which is permanent and some will need to be re-applied every 15-30 days). There is also a monthly stabling fee of up to $2 per horse ($50 per stable maximum). In order for your horse to compete in the Championship Series, you must pay a $2 supplementary fee. If you do not purchase it when originally buying your horse, it will cost you $50 if you want your horse to compete in the Championship Series.

Can I watch my virtual horse race?

Absolutely you can! This is the best part about Digiturf. You can actually cheer your horse on as it races around the track. Even better is that you can use the Embedded Race View to record your horse’s race and you can upload it to YouTube or another streaming video website to show all of your friends for bragging rights!

Do I need to download any software to play Digiturf and watch the races?

Digiturf runs in your browser using Adobe Flash Player. Digiturf supports both Windows and Macintosh platforms.
