Scary Friends Slot

Scary Friends, which was launched in February 2014, is a monsters-themed online game and a trademark of Austria’s game developer Rabcat Gambling. The availability of Scary Friends is courtesy of Microgaming, particularly through the software provider’s Microgaming Quickfire. Microgaming’s slots Monster Mania (August 2002), Boogie Monsters (October 2007), and So Many Monsters (September 2014) are examples of other relatable monsters-inspired casino games.

Scary Friends is all about symbols based on frightening monsters whose friendliness is seen through generous payouts whenever the players get two, three, four, or five matching symbols in the main game; also, successfully playing the two side games—namely gambling on red/black cards and the bonus “monster training” round—doubles the regular winnings and triggers bonus payouts, respectively.

Scary Friends Game Characteristics
Rabcat’s webpage on Scary Friends has it that the alien monsters are from exoplanets. These monsters showcase their monstrous and scary friendship on a 5X3 grid, wherein the end result of the twenty-five adjustable pay lines is determined.

Among the Scary Friends game’s eleven symbols are an ultra pink J, a green-and-white Q, a black-and-blue K, and a spotted orange number 10. The other seven monster symbols are: an orange-colored monster frog with white horns, a slim green humanoid monster, a muscular cream-colored one-eyed humanoid monster, a magenta-colored seemingly female monster with curled eyelashes, a multi-monster symbol, an orange tennis ball-like baby monster, and a yellow bear-like monster with fangs.

First, Scary Friends’ starting page highlights its three major features—the yellow “Wild” monster, up to fourteen free spins-triggering baby monster, and multi-monster “Bonus” symbol. Pressing the “continue” icon near the bottom left takes them to the user interface, wherein players do set the pay lines via the bottom left icon and, next to it, the bet icon.

Like in Rabcat’s Crystal Rift (2018) and Legend of Olympus (2013) games, Scary Friends’ bet values are $0.01, $0.02, $0.05, $0.10, $0.20, $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, and $2.00, thereby accepting a $0.01 minimum total bet for one pay line and a $50.00 maximum total bet for 25 pay lines.

The total bet-based Scary Friend’s payouts for—the $50.00 total bet, as an example—two, three, four, or five matches, respectively. Number 10 pays $4.00, $6.00, $10.00, and $20.00. J offers $4.00, $8.00, $20.00, and $100.00. Q will give $6.00, $10.00, $50.00, and $150.00. K does pay 10.00, $14.00, $100.00 and $200.00.

Monster frog has $0.00, $20.00, $100.00, and $500.00. The green humanoid has $0.00, $30.00, $200.00, and $1000.00. The one-eyed monster gives $0.00, $50.00, $400.00, and $2000.00. The magenta female monster has $0.00, $400.00, $4000.00, and $40000.00. The yellow monster offers $10.00, $400.00, and $4000.00, and the highest non-progressive payout amounting to $400000.00.

Over three multi-monster symbols activate the “monster training” bonus round, wherein four monsters are catapulted (you can even see the rpm gauge) to first, second, third, and fourth places. Three, four, or five matching symbols’ respective payouts are: first place pays $125.00, $250.00, and $1250.00; second place offers $25.00, $50.00, and $125.00; and third place gives $12.50, $25.00, and $50.00.

The good Scary Friends’ software and funny alien sound effects aside, the most outstanding thing is its 3D graphics, particularly the exaggerated body language of the yellow monster, the baby monster playing hide-and-seek behind the interface, and the green humanoid teaching a science lesson and writing complex formulae on the blackboard.
