Romeo

Romeo, released in January 2018, is an Internet casino game made by Booming Games. Romeo, whose theme is which is ill-fated love, is a slot game adaptation of William Shakespeare’s classic play named Romeo and Juliet. Another love-themed game from Booming Games is Lotus Love (January 2016). Some of the rivals of Romeo are Romeo and Juliet (March 2016) from Pragmatic Play, Romeo and Juliet (February 2015) from High 5 Games, and Book of Romeo and Julia (2016) from Gamomat.

The name “Romeo” is picked from a character in William Shakespeare’s tragic romance book titled “Romeo and Juliet”, initially published in the 1590s. The Romeo players aim for three winning combinations only.

Romeo Game Characteristics

Romeo has three special symbols. First, there is a “Wild” red rose flower. Second, it has a red “X7” heart; this winnings multiplier is associated with reel two. Both the flower and the multiplier are substitutes. Lastly, there is a black-and-golden “Romeo” coin; this scatter gives the free spins.

The five Romeo’s ordinary symbols are: a handsome youthful Romeo with a short stubbly beard, in a golden frame; a beautiful youthful Juliet with long flowing golden yellow hair, in a golden frame; a diamond-encased golden earring; a bottle of champagne beside two wine glasses; and a gift in a purple wrapper.

The Romeo payouts for three winning combinations, based on the $500.00 max bet: the red rose flower or the “Romeo” coin pays $2500.00; the Romeo’s image pays $1000.00; the Juliet’s image pays $750.00; the golden earring pays $500.00; champagne has $200.00; and the gift offers $150.00.

Three “Romeo” coins offer ten free spins while three rose flowers activate the 2-Way Pay feature. When gambling, the players guess if a yet-to-be-opened red velvet necklace box contains a diamond pendant necklace or diamond earrings. The non-progressive jackpot is X35 the $500 max bet: $17500.00.

The Romeo software is good and the instrumentals are romantic. The artist’s impressions of Romeo and Juliet are interesting. The waterway in the background falsely attributes the setting to Venice rather than Verona. However, the famous Juliet balcony—onto which the rose flower-lined grid is embedded, and has a red curtain—and the starry night just before dawn are literary factual.
