Caribbean Stud Poker is played with a standard deck of 52. The player will first have to make an Ante bet. The player and dealer will each be dealt five cards. The player’s five-card hand will be matched against the dealer’s to determine the winner of the hand.

There are two betting rounds in a hand of Caribbean Stud Poker. First is the Ante. The second is when the dealer turns one of his cards face up. If you think you can beat the dealer’s hand, place a Call bet (twice your Ante bet) and keep playing. If you choose not to Call, you will Fold your hand, thus surrendering your Ante bet.

If you choose to keep playing against the dealer’s hand, the dealer’s other four cards and the hands will be compared. To get to this stage, the dealer must qualify with an Ace-King or higher. If the dealer fails to qualify, you win your Ante bet, but your Call bet will be returned, regardless of the hand rankings.

If the dealer does qualify and you win the round, the Ante pays even money. However, if you win with anything better than a pair, the casino will pay you a multiple of your Call bet based on a bonus ranking. The better you hand is, the higher your bonus will be.

If the player and dealer have the same hand, the round will be declared a Push (or a tie). Your bet will then be returned.
