Welcome to the return of the EPL $10k Challenge.
For those unaware – me and a former bookmaker by the name of Bookie Bill have been involved in a $10k challenge, to see who can do the best on the EPL all season. The last entry was in early December by Bookie Bill, which brought the scores to this:
Dan: 11-13 +5.4 units
Bookie Bill: 6-25 -14.54 units
Now I was all set to let Bookie Bill buy out his losses at a reduced price, because let’s face it: I’ve won. However lately I’ve been doing great with the betting tips and e-mailing Bookie Bill after the fact to notify him, and he’s been less than happy, whining about “aftertouch” and so on. Long story short, the banter came to a head and the challenge is back for the full $10k.
I can’t wait until the end of the season. $10k wow, I could hire Fernando Torres for 26 minutes with that kind of money.
Chelsea vs Fulham: Torres to Score First
The odds aren’t out on this one yet, however I’ll update this page when they are. If you want to play it safe, bet Torres to score, but if you want a nice score, go for Torres to score first. He’s had over a week to get settled in now with Chelsea, and they’ll have everything figured out. He’s going to score a goal in this game guaranteed, and I expect it will be the first goal, probably within the first 10 minutes.

Man Utd 0-0 Man City: 11s
Honestly I’d recommend you bet this one with the plan to trade off later on. You can do that at Betfair. Man City know how to hold the “big X” teams down and drain all the energy out of the games. Rooney also isn’t on form, and without him Man U look lost at times. I see this being a dull encounter, most likely ending in an 0-0 result.

Liverpool Clean Sheet: Yes @ 1.96
With two risky bets, it’s time to play with two safer bets. Dalglish is building a strong Liverpool team, and he’s focusing on the defense first mentality. Their defense have looked solid lately, even against the likes of Anelka, Drogba and Torres. I expect this to continue here, and Liverpool to get a comfortable 1-0 or 2-0.

Tottenham to beat Sunderland @ 2.92
I’m surprised Spurs aren’t the favourite here. They’re starting to get results together, and Craig Gordon has had a little bit of a knee problem at Sunderland. Yeah Spurs are of course without Bale, Van Der Vaart and possibly Crouch, however they have enough game winners on their team. Sunderland have been playing above themselves this season, but Spurs will take the win here and get themselves back on track for the top 4.
