Welcome to this weeks edition of the English Premier League Tips. Bookie Bill had a rough time last week going 0-4, although it was one of those weekends where it just wasn’t meant to be. So many shots by Spurs in the game against City for it to end 0-0 was brutal, as was Arsenals inability to beat a 10 man team.

Tottenham Hotspur to beat Stoke City @ 2.24 at Tower Sportsbook

Spurs looked great, especially in the first half, in their game against Manchester City and should have been up at least 2-0. Stoke meanwhile did not look good in their game against Wolves, and home advantage just isn’t going to be enough for them here. Expect a solid victory by Spurs, who will not be leaving the Brittania Stadium without all 3 points.

In addition to that, we will be backing:

Tottenham Hotspur to win both halves @ 7 at Befair

Betting an away team to win both halves is obviously a tricky proposition to make. However I firmly believe this is too good a price to pass up. Spurs will be attacking from the get-go and should win the first half comfortably, then sit back in the second half and counter where they can be strong. This, coupled with their previous two results makes me think Spurs will want to make a lot of noise about how good they are in this game, and will look to run up a cricket score.

Birmingham to beat Blackburn @ 2.20 at Ladbrokes

Plus get a free £10 too.

Birmingham haven’t lost a game at home in the league in 11 months. McLeish has created a very patient and solid team that can break down a lot of defenses. I expect Blackburn to go into this one very defensively, but Birmingham to pick them apart and pick up a win by one goal. This is a great price, especially with the free bet.

Newcastle to beat Aston Villa @ 3.3 at Betfair

Prior to the Man Utd-Newcastle game I was already thinking ahead, and hoping to tip Villa to get the win here if Newcastle didn’t get destroyed. However it was such a beating that the odds have been pushed in our favour to the point where Newcastle is the bet to make.

There’s just too many factors in this one that make Newcastle the best decision. The prices have already been affected by the opening day fixtures, even though Newcastle played one of the best teams in England away, and Villa played a piss-poor West Ham team at home. Villa don’t have a manager yet, are coming off a draw in Europe where they will have the obvious hangover just two days later, plus have to travel back. Newcastle are at home in front of a huge crowd in their home return to the Premier League. This is not a banker by a long shot, but is without a doubt a great price.
