Paywire

Paywire is a July 2018 haywire-inspired slot game made by Asylum Labs, and provided by Gameiom alongside Leander Games. Classic slot machine, retro style, polka design, and jumbovision are among the themes. The rival games of Paywire include Viva Las Vegas Classic (August 2015) from Ash Gaming, Double Magic (January 2014) from Microgaming, and Spin ‘n Win from Amaya.

The slot’s name “Paywire” is a corruption of “Haywire”, an informal reference to some classic slot machines that, until in the 1980s, had a tendency to trick slot players into attributing their winnings to inexistent malfunctions. All eight symbols (“paywire”, “2X”, green 7, red 7, blue 7, triple “BAR”, double “BAR”, and single “BAR”) require three winning combinations, either matching or mismatching. However, one or two “paywire” symbols also trigger payouts.
Paywire Game Characteristics

Paywire has a gold framed lemon yellow 3X2 grid whose reels have golden partitions. A lone fixed payline bisects the grid. It has eight symbols, both dynamic odds and fixed odds, win multipliers, a wild, no scatter, two special features, and seventeen bet sizes. Its two fixed odds are 2X and 4X. The regular payouts range from $0.1 to $100000.

The Paywire symbols have one special symbol and seven ordinary symbols. The special symbol is a neon “Wild!”/“paywire” circle. The ordinary symbols are: a neon “2X” circle; a green 7; a red 7; a blue 7; a yellow triple “BAR”; a yellow double “BAR”; and a yellow single “BAR”.

On its starting page, players click the glistening golden “play” to proceed to the Paywire interface whose bet sizes are: $0.01 (minimum bet), $0.02, $0.03, $0.04, $0.05, $0.10, $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, $2.00, $3.00, $4.00, $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $50.00, and $100.00 (maximum bet).

These Paywire payouts are based on the $100.00 maximum bet. Fixed odds: two “2X” plus any (either “2X”, or “paywire”) pay 4X; a “2X” plus any two identical (either two “2X”, or two “Paywire” symbols) pay 2X. One “paywire” pays $100.00. Two “Paywire” symbols pay $300.00.

Three winning combinations: “paywire” pays $100000; green 7s pay $7500.00; red 7s pay $5000.00; blue 7s pay $3500.00; triple “BAR” pays $2500.00; mismatching 7s pay $2000.00; double “BAR” pays $1500.00; single “BAR” pays $1000.00; any three mismatching “BARS” pays $500.00.

Paywire’s two special features: nudge and haywire. The nudge feature is a randomly triggered second winning chance offered to players for their winless spins—it prompts the symbols on the grid to realign themselves again. The haywire feature comes during regular wins; the seemingly crazed Paywire software repeatedly replicates a regular win, sometimes offering X9 win multiplier. Paywire’s non-progressive jackpot is X1000; thereby, staking the $100 maximum bet can trigger $100000.00.

Despite its basic concept, Paywire has good and advanced software whose up to 100 automated rounds can be capped at the X25 bet loss limit or X75 bet win limit. There is an electronic background music. Its animated 3D graphics include flipping symbols on the starting page, gushing golden coins and glittering grid during wins, grid shaking uncontrollably, twinkling polka dots in the background, and, most notably, the electronic signage in the colorful jumbotron wherein the grid is embedded.
