Lightning Box Games released Silver Lion in April 2016. A non-pay line online casino game, Silver Lion is the male version of and the first game before Silver Lioness 4X (February 2018). Silver Lion is closely related to Silver Pride and Stellar Jackpots with Silver Lion, both from Lightning Box Games. A fictitious African lion, which has a colorful but predominantly silver-colored mane, inspired the Silver Lion game; it is also the brand logo. Like in Silver Lioness 4X, there are two types of winning combinations: those that require the players to match two, three, four, and five symbols, and those requiring three, four, and five matches.

Silver Lion Game Characteristics
Silver Lion has a 5X4 grid. The deactivated slider that is ordinarily used to set pay lines shows 1024 winning ways instead of the usual lines. There are thirteen Silver Lion symbols in total: two special symbols and eleven ordinary symbols. The special symbols are: a black “Wild” (substitute) baobab tree photographed at sunset; and a red “Silver Lion Bonus” diamond (the Scatter).

The regular symbols are: a silver-colored lion lying down, a Maasai moran (warrior) holding a spear and a shield, a yawning hippopotamus in a swamp, two zebras standing still, three meerkats on the lookout, a red-striped A, a blue-striped K, a purple-striped Q, a green-striped J, a golden brown-striped 10, and a golden yellow-striped 9.

After loading Silver Lion, the players are asked whether to play with sound, where they click “Yes” or “No” accordingly. The next page is all about: winning as much as 20 free spins, the free spins-triggering diamond, and the X27 maximum winnings multiplier that is applied on stacked “Wild” baobabs.

For the symbols requiring three, four, and five combinations, the Silver Lion payouts are: the red “Bonus” diamond has X80, X400, and X800; an A or a K offers X10, X50, and X140; a Q or a J pays X5, X40, and X120; and the 10 pays X5, X20, and X100. Three, four, and five red diamonds offer eight, 15, and 20 free spins; moreover, five extra free rounds are awarded whenever two diamonds appear during the free spin mode.

The original Silver Lion lacks a jackpot, but the offshoot called “Stellar Jackpots with Silver Lion” has a $50000 jackpot.
