Legend of Olympus, which was released around May 2013, is an Olympians gods-themed online game trademarked by the Austrian gaming software developer Rabcat Gambling. Legend of Olympus is a Microgaming Quickfire-powered game, alongside Rabcat’s other Olympus-branded August 2011 slot called Mount Olympus. Play’n GO’s Rise of Olympus and Spin Games-owned Shadows of Olympus are among its rival games.

The name “Legend of Olympus” is a translation of the Greek words “Legendele Olimpului”, which is also the title (and slot game adaptation) of Romanian children’s author Alexander Mitru’s Greek myth-based 1960 book. To win, Legend of Olympus players match two, three, four, or five mythical artifacts and character symbols.

First, the Legend of Olympus symbols have five objects: a spear-tip; an engraved golden wine glass; a silver helmet (associated with god Hermes) with two flapping wings; a round golden shield; and a golden god Zeus’ “Bonus” coin.

The Legend of Olympus software and sound effects are good; the impressive realistic 3D graphics notably include the beard-stroking Zeus who points at the nervous Hades before a bolt of lightning strikes him, the erupting Mount Olympus in the background, Hades’ lightning strike head scars, the winking female warrior, the wine-gulping character, the beckoning angels of death on River Styx, and the unmistakable real-life Parthenon ruins onto which the interface is embedded.
